Romain Champalaune graduated from the French National School of Photography Louis-Lumière in 2012. After graduation he worked on the Iranian society for two years. Now he attempts to deconstruct the structures of economic power through images. His photographs are published in national and international outlets such as Le Monde, The New York Times, Der Spiegel, D La Repubblica, WIRED, Marie-Claire. His first movie, “Samsung Galaxy”, has been selected at numerous film festivals including the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. In 2015, he was laureate of the Marcel Bleustein-Banchet Foundation. His second film “The Life & Death of Oscar Perez” obtained the Jury Prize at the International Medium-Length Film Meeting (Brive, France). In 2021, he became a Berlinale Talents Alumni.
